Unhealthy styles of coping are only useful, to ourselves and others, until they are not.
In minor and major ways, we may all come to agree that we have adopted certain styles of dealing with life that impact ourselves and others in unhealthy ways.
Even though ideally, we would have hoped to have been guided to, role modelled with and taught healthy ways of coping with life’s challenges, this ideal in many times is not a reality of our development or childhood.
It may now be beneficial for this view to be reframed as an opportunity. An opportunity to be nurtured in the present as we learn and develop healthy coping styles to lead our lives towards better outcomes for ourselves and those we love.
